Happy New Year!
So… it’s the first weekend of the New Year and my husband so sweetly made me my favorite fresh green juice. We also had leftover champagne (well it was techncially organic Prosecco but it was so dry it tasted more like champagne to me. Editors note: I like Prosecco or less ‘brut’ bubbly better!) 🙂
I’m also a super busy mompreneur, prepping for a call tomorrow so I really don’t have time to sit down and enjoy/sip not one but TWO drinks this morning. What did I do? Multi-task of course! I made myself a green mimosa and it was really good! Surprisingly tasty… with a healthy kick! Gotta love it! My husband had 2 glasses of it! (I was working so I stopped at one!) 🙂
Champagne (and other bubblies like Prosecco or Cava) are just as good for your health as red wine – it has the same antioxidant resveratrol as red wine, and other polyphenols that lower blood pressure. It also has been linked with better short-term memory!
Green juice is, of course, amazing for your health. Green juice helps with energy, weight loss and immunity. It’s full of vitamins and minerals, and because it’s raw, you get great enzymes from the plants. A green juice is a really easy and tasty way to get in a whole bunch of healthy veggies. (The only drawback to a juice rather than something full-pulp like a smoothie is you miss out on the fiber, so I still recommend eating your veggies as well!)
This would be a great special addition to any party, gathering or even girls gathering. Try it next time you have these 2 beverages on hand or want to bring some festive fun to your healthy gathering!
Cheers! Salud! L’Chaim! And here’s to a great 2016!
